Wear A Work of Art On Your Wedding Day!

If you’re looking for something truly unique to wear on your wedding day, how about this exciting new trend – for a wedding dress made entirely out of paper? As one designer of these incredibly crafted creations, Freya Von Strapp, explains, brides are investing in her designs to keep forever as mementos of their wedding day – pointing out the splash of champagne they spilled during the toasts, or a spot of icing from cutting the cake!

My favourite designs have to be these gorgeous gowns by Lia Griffiths…

This white design is truly wedding-worthy… but I adore these incredible, bursting-with-colour creations, too!

But the exquisite beauty of paper-cut art doesn’t have to be as avant-garde as these ball-gowns! Last Valentine’s Day, my beloved surprised me with an incredible gift – a limited edition, Valentine’s paper-cut by my favourite artist, Rob Ryan. The intricate detail and the fragile, delicate nature of the paper made it such a romantic present.

Although these particular paper-cuts have sold out, Rob Ryan’s online shop is bursting with other original works of art, from printed silk scarves to ceramic tiles – all of which would make wonderful wedding favours!

How original! The first dress is so beautiful, I love how its sort of avant-garde meets traditional with the stems of the roses providing the length often seen in a more traditional dress.

I love the butterfly one and the leaves one. Also how does Rob Ryan make those incredibly complex paper cuts?!?!
