What can you discover while walking in a park in the Netherlands? … a secret Garden of Tulips of course… Oh ! And the scent of spring all around. I can’t explain why but tulips make me happy! So bright and colourful, they always place a smile on my face! I have found this secret garden and its space was divided into colours and type. Yellow and pink, red and purple, light pink and bright pink. I thought immediately that tulips are beautiful but how wonderful would be to divide them into colours and create a table colour palette divided into nouances ? Imagine a long table with tulips as centerpieces starting from nouances of strong red colour ending with light pink. A lively Dutch Tulip field as wedding table!

Here is another post about autumn, but today I’ve been inspired by Jessica Sloane of Love Bird Style who designed this charming setting captured by Souder Photography. Everything is surrounded by the cosy autumnal colours in the simplicity of few natural elements: an inviting basket of crisp red apples, a corner with warm apple pies & leaves and pine cones spread out everywhere! I always thought that simplicity is the key to happiness … and here a beautiful example! Hopefully this will give you a little inspiration for your ideal wedding!

This morning I woke up early and from my window I could see the magical dance of leaves falling down. So many beautiful colours floating in the air! Who doesn’t love fall colors? Leaves are just as colorful as flowers… So, before they got too brittle, I went out to collect some and tied them up into a nice bouquet. There are few tutorials on ‘how to turn autumn leaves into a bouquet of roses’ you can easily follow, and I’m sure the result will be stunning! I found this project nice and easy to repeat for your wedding decorations, too! If you are a DIY bride and you are keen to customise your wedding in perfect harmony with the season, this is a great idea for you!

The first leaves are falling down creating a fantastic explosion of colours!! Autumn has finally arrived! There is something special about this time of the year, I can smell a change in the air and a slight coolness in the breeze.. but we are still on time for an outdoor wedding! According to your chosen colour palette, you can recreate a different ambience for your wedding: warm, vintage, elegant… Shades of orange and brown can be used for a rustic feel, while purple and a touch of gold for a more elegant athmosphere. So many accessories can be used to warm up your day.. pine cones, pumpkins, gourds, almonds and chestnuts. Bare branches and vines entwined with twinkling white lights and candles would provide a lovely glow to the whole setting. Baskets of fruits such as apples, oranges, lemons mixed with nuts still in the shells can replace the usual flower compositions. For the tables you can chose between a sweet touch of lace or a simpler brownish linen, either way the table setting would look gorgeous! Gerberas, mixed with other wild blooms, roses or different shades of calla lillies for a perfect autumnal bridal bouquet! And for the reception, warm up your guests with a delicious combination of seasonal recipes and serve mugs of hot apple cider with cinnamon sticks with the dessert. And if you want an even cosier atmosphere.. a bonfire with comfortable seating arrangements will be surprisingly perfect!

Summer is about to finish … just another week! But.. still.. for a late summer wedding I was inspired by bees!! If your colour scheme includes some shades of yellow.. why don’t you add to your decor a few “sweet” details like small bees cupcakes, nests, honey dippers and…yes, why not? Jars of honey!!! Jars of honey are going to be a pleasant favour for those who like to add a bit of honey in their tea.. I’m sure they will use it throughout the winter to warm themselves up! Or.. what about handing out recipes that include honey? Honey soaps, candies or liquors are just a few ideas! For creative couples that love DIY … honey will be a perfect wedding theme and your day will be as sweet as it can “bee”!! :)

Today I came across this fabulous photo shoot for the new campaign of Pom Pom Factory by Karen Hsu. Using simple materials, Karen brings a personal and handmade touch to her work, giving each creation a freshness and poetic individuality. I was dreaming of bringing the same freshness and poetry to a wedding…why not? Pom poms can be hanged on trees or tied to strings to fill up a room, left floating in the air, used as centerpieces or as tea lights… or even as tiny confetti to throw after the ceremony…So cute!! For a really nice effect you should use thousand of pom poms in different colours and size or…just in the shade that matches your colour scheme! They are a really cheap and chic DIY item! So… Let’s be crafty and creative!

Usually colours are chosen to accentuate your mood. For your wedding what’s better than yellow to accentuate your joyful feeling? Here is a bright sunny mood board for those brides that are going to get married in this lovely and warm season. A yellow, blue and white Wedding scheme is a perfect mix either you are getting married by the beach or in the countryside! Yellow seems to soak up the light so it can radiate sunshine even on dull days, while blue and white bring elegance into the wedding design. How sophisticated this table setting with a silk blue tablecloth, white chinaware and small and bright yellow flowers is!

Chiffon, organza, satin, taffeta, sheer, grosgrain, jacquard weave are just a few of the many kind of ribbon you can find and use for your wedding! Definitely one of my favourite money saving decor! It’s so easy to add colour and texture to a venue using masses of ribbons in different shades and tones to fit with your wedding scheme. Here are some lovely ideas that you can incorporate into your day. I love these pictures by Shay Cochrane Photography where ribbons are used to ornate the placemats, chairs, table numbers, candles.. I like the chosen colours too.. however ribbons give you the flexibility to pick your favourite tone from thousands of options!

Colours, colours, colours! I love Indian weddings! I wish all the Indian brides could bring something of their happy culture at the wedding party.
Indian bracelets, Mehndi henna decorations, red, fucsia, orange and yellow flower garlands..Traditions are important, and in every wedding they should be respected not only with the ceremony but also with a few extra details, being them clothes or other items which can turn your wedding into YOUR OWN VERY SPECIAL event.
