According to fashion magazines and latest trends Emerald Green seems to be the colour of the year.
You can believe it or not, but actually there is a special reason for that: Pantone. This company is perhaps the icon of colours and it is they who get to choose the color that the entire world-wide fashion and design industry follow to set collections and trends.
Most of the trend watchers thought the deep ocean Monaco Blue, would have been the choice instead this year. But not at all, Pantone went for the green Emerald. So should we all say thanks to Pantone for this?
Anyway, decorating in 2013 is definitely going to be fun for lovers of green, and we are happy with that!

We’ve loved it so much since it made his apparence at the Wonderful World of Oz and named Emerald.
It immediately brings to mind precious gems, plus it is sophisticated and luxurious, it has a touch of vintage and it is timeless..
It seems like some colors have more staying power than others and this is the case with Emerald, as over the seasons, it is still up to the best choice.
Green is definitely a must in fashion collections, including wedding trends and home collections.

So whats the reason for that? According to Pantone press release, the official reason for choosing Emerald, Pantone 17-5641, is it “enhances our sense of well-being further by inspiring insight, as well as promoting balance and harmony,”
We must add: it is chic and sopisticated and almost perfect for any scheme. So yes, we can can imagine why our clients choose this pallette for their wedding day. Perhaps, small details, like green heels, or a green tie, or what about a green cake? .. We have choosen some images for you. Truly unique!

Well, Christmas time is definitely coming. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, you must love the atmosphere around it.
So what makes Christmas so special, what makes us feel in the “Christmas mood”?
For some of us, it’s the hustle and bustle of cities with a backdrop of Christmas lights, the smell of roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. For others, the crowded vintage markets, people walking home carrying a Christmas tree and the radio playing “Let It Snow”. Then it is time. Every year it ‘s the same and every year it is so special and different at the same time.

First, it is not Christmas without a Christmas tree or festive home décor. Choose the colours you prefer, remember it can simply match with a winter mood, choose some neutral notes like grey or taupe and add some Christmas colours like green or reds, even oranges, or some fruit for a special touch and never, never forget the lights! Lights, candles and fairy lights, anything on that kind, is good to create a magical atmosphere.
Personalize everything: a mirror, a door, a window, small details… what else?
Christmas can be very special for our brides to be and those who have recently tied the knot or have just moved into the new house!

If your count down has started, discover ways to make it really special. Here are some ideas to spend fashionable days and buy fashionable things for less!
-Buying local, from markets and charity shops is a good way to feel close with our community, sharing something with them and helping people.
-Go to a vintage market on a cold and crisp Winter’s Sunday. This can really help you to feel the Christmas spirit. If you are lucky and if you have an eye for good bargains, markets are the right place for you.
-High street shopping can also be a possibility. Keep an eye on prices but for your Christmas shopping and atmosphere, it is definitely worth a try.

THIS YEAR, Tiffany and Co. celebrates its 175th anniversary. Tiffany and Young was founded in 1837 as a stationery emporium in New York City. In 1940, Tiffany moved to the current location on Fifth Avenue and focused on jewellery.
It has been long time since the original store opened and from then on the link between Tiffany’s brand and the colour became stronger and stronger. Nothing more than this brand with its classic Blue Box symbolises a company and a style.
Light medium robin egg blue color (Tiffany Blue is the colloquial name) is produced as a private custom colour by Pantone, with PMS number 1837- the year when Tiffany’s was founded.

Now with its almost 240 stores around the world it continues to provide dreams and style in small gorgeous blue boxes.
This amazing blue color represents communication, creativity, and at the same time it is incredibly modern and chic.

Turquoise was a favourite of Victorian brides.Very simple and elegant, soft and sweet, it is almost perfect for weddings.
AS A BRIDE, you can play with the blue palette, and make turquoise your own, but if you are not a “Tiffany Bride”, you can still use the blue color in your clothes and decor.
WHETHER it is light or bright, the timeless style of this colour means the result will be chic and stylish.

From sweet veils to romantic gowns, and vintage decors: brides have fallen for lace!
Every Winter and Spring, metres of beautiful lace make an appearance on the catwalks of the world.
It has been popular for over a hundred years, but never that glamorous. It is definitely trendy to say I DO with some lace on!
Romantic, sexy, classic, sophisticated, vintage or baby. Chantilly, macramé, rebrodé, in white and ivory with a pastel touch. Ornate and delicate: designers definitely know that lace is the perfect feminine touch.

Also very versatile, whilst lace is romantic in style, it can easily surprise you and turn into a something new.
Carefully mixed to make sure its not too much but also not to minimal. Choose soft colours, more towards pastels or vintage palette, like greens for more nostalgic themes or pinks and greys to evoke a vintage theme.

Summer 2012…
There have been times when the heat was so warm that we thought that our head was going to explode. Without a hat we could have not survived.
There have been times when we were eager to see the result of our photographers, to see the colours of our projects and the beauty of our brides….unfortunately we must be patient!
Days where we thought that our team was great, and others where we felt extremely under pressure, anxious and tired from the amount of hours spent in front of our laptop.
Wedding days showing grey clouds and when the fears that a heavy rain was going to destroy all our precious work….days where, instead, we have hoped for a draft, some wind, just wished for some fresh air! Hide the sun please! :)
Nights when the sky was beautifully decorated with shining stars, where, in a remote silent corner far from the wedding festivities, we could just admire the landscape and feel this immense beauty inside of us. When, in the middle of the pressure, we simply felt connected and happy for an unknown reason.
Moments where we flew, weeks after weeks, drove, day after day, our cars packed with ribbons and decorations, mobile in one hand, and eyes on the highway on the others, when we felt reassured by the precious presence of our teams, our helpers and all our collaborators. Days when we had just discovered something which surprised us, or when (in deep honesty) we just were looking forward to be back and see the face of our lovers and friends or the smile of our children.
Some internal joy or doubtfulness cannot be described in a few words , rather for me, the images are just bringing some memories and feelings alive.
I want to share some pictures of some of the events of the past season. Each one of those gathers colours and decorations but for me a special meaning is hidden behind each picture. Either was the sky, or the clouds, or the special friendship with a bride, her tears, I must admit this summer brought, after all, many smiles and when I look back, many many good memories.

I am just back from New York. Ten days in the big apple, 5 of which in total blackout. I am not complaining of course as many have suffered major losses whereas my only disadventure was having dinner at the light of a candle.
Even though my favourite part of the city was shut for many days, I fortunately still managed to enjoy a few strolls around lower Manhattan on my quest for industrial details.
Here are some images of what is super popular in NYC, items that I have found in trendy nightlife spots which I have always loved and I can’t wait to use in one of our weddings. Come on brides…let’s dare.

Here I am…so tired after a day of scouting, sneaking, sourcing, shopping…a few images of new entries into our stock of decorative elements. Markets are full of ideas, I wish I could just wander from city to city visiting them.
Anyway, Portobello on a Friday afternoon, when there are no tourists obstructing your view and you can actually take your time to look around is THE BEST!
Here are today’s purchases:
Vintage white light dress …perfect to hang, decorate a tree, a photo shoot
I told my husband that we now HAVE TO organise another party!

Vintage Marine hat for our photobooth corner..

Another almost new vintage suitcase (One of my current grooms would hate it and I still think about his sad story…however I can’t help it…but add new pieces to my collection! :-))

Yes, I have finally found a mercury glass vase that I like…hurrah!

And my old friend at the market had this gorgeous mirror which works perfectly at our girlie corner..let’s dance babes!
