Italy…it’s such a difficult country to live in…many visitors don’t realise it but for the residents there is always something wrong, something to complain about.
The perfect country for a wedding I would say, an amazing paradise for a short break or a long relaxing summer holiday…but not the best place to settle.
I live in London and I have chosen this city after having tried Madrid, Aix en Provence and Munich. I love London and would not trade it…unless I decide to move to a peaceful island to surf every day. :-)
Having said that, still, every time I arrive in Italy I am overwhelmed by its magic. Here are some images of Florence, Tuscany and Rome that captured my heart this past weekend.

From Cupcakes to Champagne, this year’s Designer Wedding Show was to inspirational!
There are many booths that made an imprint on me from this show. The show offered a wide rage of wonderful live music, great Save-The-Date ideas, venues, accessories, innovative photographers, dresses, hats, dessert, caterers and tips to staying organised during the Wedding Planning process. It created so many new ideas.
After we had spent most of the day conversing with people and sharing our ideas of Wedding Planning, we spent a few minutes posing for the camera in a Photobooth (which was a great keepsake from the day). My highlight had to be of course, the Designer Fashion Show.
Matthew Williamson showed us some great gowns for this upcoming season.

The Designer Wedding Show gave a great information from a wide view of topics. It would be beneficial for any bride to attend, as it helps materialize any ideas that you are unsure of.
Thanks The Designer Wedding Show, we had a great time.

We’ve always had a fascination of Curiosity Shops, that old idea that seems all the more eccentric as the years go on. This particular shop is called ‘The Last Tuesday Society’ and is located just off our favorite Broadway Market on Mare Street. A mixture of vintage goods to buy, props for hire, taxidermy (including their current 8ft polar bear which stands at the entrance of the shop) and a little shop of horrors downstairs which serves as a museum and can be hired as a venue for parties or dinners. We thought you may enjoy some of the images below, but you really need to go and look for yourself, visiting is by appointment only and this can be found here. If your looking for something a bit more unique for your wedding/party/home then this is your best bet! Enjoy!

Wedding Inspirations are everywhere.
On a recent trip to Istanbul I was swept away by the ageless trees. While most people were off marvelling at the wonders of the great palace, I began to notice these thousand year old trees in the courtyard. I thought about how beautiful and intricate they were. Trees are often understated and overlooked, but if you take the time to ‘Smell the Roses’, choosing a venue with intricate trees adds a fine detail that only natures gifts can provide.

Tickled for Pink?… You’re in Luck!
Blush Pink is on the colour forecast for Spring 2012. Blush pink tones down the passion of red and combines with the purity of white. It reminds us of the romance associated with the blushing of a young brides cheeks.

Finally in Bali! What do you think we all wanted to do as soon as we grabbed our rental car? Go for a coffee of course! We opted for a relaxing brunchy style coffee at the Bali Cafe’…smashing setting with a superb attention to detail. Everything looked perfect, the flowers on the table, the white chairs, the pinky velvet cushions, the shabby granola bowls, the cane sugar in mint cups with painted flowers…and I could go on forever. How come that I find all this in Indonesia and I struggle to find it in Italy…the soi-disant “patria del design”? Mhmm, I am astoned.

Here we are again with the second episode of our Weddings in Italy Series and today we are going to talk about the fabulous lake region! Probably most of our clients fancy getting married in the countryside, Tuscany being the top destination, followed closely by Umbria….I guess that the vineyards, the soft hills, the superb beef and the fine wine do have an impact on this trend. Having said that, the charm of the water does attract a lot of couples who like the idea of jetting around from one village to the other by speedboat. Well, the lakes have it all…village life, beaches, mountains in the distance and they are rather close to Milan, making it very convenient for the guests travelling from far away.
Below are a few images of a wedding on Lake Maggiore. The weather was great, the bride and the groom were super sweet and the guests loved every minute of it. This was a very elegant, yet fun and relaxed event, an old time classic.

In which locations has your agency organised weddings? Do you have a list of locations that you recommend? How can I be sure that you have organised weddings all over Italy? …These are only a few sample questions that clients may have asked us in the past years. Well, from today onwards, you will be able to check some of the most amazing locations in Italy, from North to South, where Chicweddings has been. We haven’t been in tourist’s trap sites and we haven’t proposed ideas which we could not have loved for our own wedding. On the contrary, everything that we will feature here in the upcoming weeks will show why our heart started beating faster when we laid our eyes on something special and where our mind couldn’t stop day dreaming…
We hope you enjoy these locations as well. Unfortunately – or fortunately for us! :-) – some of these weddings have been published in lifestyle magazines and we cannot use the official photographer’s pictures. However , we did our best to capture the most special moments with our own cameras while running around to make sure that every detail was perfect and we will be sharing these shots with our readers! We apologise if some of the images won’t be great but bear with us…it was not easy to think about the light and the angle while setting up the tables, hanging the curtains, decorating the ceremony chairs…etc etc etc

Wow. There is no better way to describe the super-duper-extra-beautiful island of Ponza! I have always loved it and thought about getting married there myself. I finally ended up tying the knot in Filicudi but was really happy to organise this fabulous Mediterranean wedding in this very chic Southern Italian Paradise. Here a few hints…the full wedding gallery will follow in the next few days. Watch the space!
