The bridesmaids tradition takes its origins from the Roman Law: bridesmaids dressed identically to the bride were required, so that mischievous spirits who were believed to attend the wedding would be confused as to who the Bride was!

Today’s tradition is bit different and the role is more – I would say, “practical”.

She has to be supportive, always available for a wedding shopping spree, help out throughout the wedding, calm the bride down when stress gets the better of her and help her in having the happiest and most memorable day.

Indeed the bridesmaid role has always been very important. If you have the pleasure of being asked to be a bridesmaid consider it a honour!

Overall I think that the hardest part comes with the choice of the bridesmaids dresses. You are in search for something that needs to be glamorous and fit perfectly on every single bridesmaid.

It’s a difficult task! Especially if the girls are living in different cities or they can’t meet up for make a choice. Bridesmaids usually need to be identical or with alike outfits. The style or the color liked by the bride may not match with your personal taste but there is always a good solution!

Here are our tips on how to choose the proper dress and style with some fun – without falling in a dreadful adventure:
1. The wedding is the bride special day. Therefore if she asks you to wear a certain style but is not the outfit you would normally wear, then you should bear in mind that it is the dress the bride likes and suits her taste.

2. If she ask your opinion regarding what would you like to wear, use simple and elegant choices. Elegance is a synonym for beautiful that has come to acquire the additional connotations of unusual effectiveness and simplicity.

3. Focus on details and accessorizes. Use flowers, bags, hats – suggest the use of simple but very elegant elements that can transform your dress into something special and unique.

4. Suggest to have a themed wedding. This can help with the selection of the dress, in having more variety, as well as a lot of fun and unforgettable pictures!

5. The color plays a key part – The bride can opt for a tonality or few colors to be combined; but most commonly happens that she wants to stick to just one. Cross your fingers or find an agreement with all the bridesmaids before the bride proposes one specific color!

Similar colors – different style

5. Ok, you girls should all wear the same dress. But why don’t play with some “wow factor” – something unusual to wear but always fitting well with theme, color, style of the wedding??!
Have something unique, play with the theme, use some meaningful detail to personalize the style of the brides its always fun and can turn into something beautiful.

According to fashion magazines and latest trends Emerald Green seems to be the colour of the year.
You can believe it or not, but actually there is a special reason for that: Pantone. This company is perhaps the icon of colours and it is they who get to choose the color that the entire world-wide fashion and design industry follow to set collections and trends.
Most of the trend watchers thought the deep ocean Monaco Blue, would have been the choice instead this year. But not at all, Pantone went for the green Emerald. So should we all say thanks to Pantone for this?

It immediately brings to mind precious gems, plus it is sophisticated and luxurious, it has a touch of vintage and it is timeless..
It seems like some colors have more staying power than others and this is the case with Emerald, as over the seasons, it is still up to the best choice.
Green is definitely a must in fashion collections, including wedding trends and home collections.

We must add: it is chic and sopisticated and almost perfect for any scheme. So yes, we can can imagine why our clients choose this pallette for their wedding day. Well, Christmas time is definitely coming. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, you must love the atmosphere around it.
So what makes Christmas so special, what makes us feel in the “Christmas mood”?
For some of us, it’s the hustle and bustle of cities with a backdrop of Christmas lights, the smell of roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. For others, the crowded vintage markets, people walking home carrying a Christmas tree and the radio playing “Let It Snow”. Then it is time. Every year it ‘s the same and every year it is so special and different at the same time.

Nice decors at Desdemyventana
First, it is not Christmas without a Christmas tree or festive home décor. Choose the colours you prefer, remember it can simply match with a winter mood, choose some neutral notes like grey or taupe and add some Christmas colours like green or reds, even oranges, or some fruit for a special touch and never, never forget the lights! Lights, candles and fairy lights, anything on that kind, is good to create a magical atmosphere.
Personalize everything: a mirror, a door, a window, small details… what else?
Christmas can be very special for our brides to be and those who have recently tied the knot or have just moved into the new house!

If your count down has started, discover ways to make it really special. Here are some ideas to spend fashionable days and buy fashionable things for less!
-Buying local, from markets and charity shops is a good way to feel close with our community, sharing something with them and helping people.
-Go to a vintage market on a cold and crisp Winter’s Sunday. This can really help you to feel the Christmas spirit. If you are lucky and if you have an eye for good bargains, markets are the right place for you.
-High street shopping can also be a possibility. Keep an eye on prices but for your Christmas shopping and atmosphere, it is definitely worth a try.

THIS YEAR, Tiffany and Co. celebrates its 175th anniversary. Tiffany and Young was founded in 1837 as a stationery emporium in New York City. In 1940, Tiffany moved to the current location on Fifth Avenue and focused on jewellery.
It has been long time since the original store opened and from then on the link between Tiffany’s brand and the colour became stronger and stronger. Nothing more than this brand with its classic Blue Box symbolises a company and a style.
Light medium robin egg blue color (Tiffany Blue is the colloquial name) is produced as a private custom colour by Pantone, with PMS number 1837- the year when Tiffany’s was founded.
