According to fashion magazines and latest trends Emerald Green seems to be the colour of the year.

You can believe it or not, but actually there is a special reason for that: Pantone. This company is perhaps the icon of colours and it is they who get to choose the color that the entire world-wide fashion and design industry follow to set collections and trends.

Most of the trend watchers thought the deep ocean Monaco Blue, would have been the choice instead this year. But not at all, Pantone went for the green Emerald. So should we all say thanks to Pantone for this?

Anyway, decorating in 2013 is definitely going to be fun for lovers of green, and we are happy with that!

We’ve loved it so much since it made his apparence at the Wonderful World of Oz and named Emerald.

It immediately brings to mind precious gems, plus it is sophisticated and luxurious, it has a touch of vintage and it is timeless..

It seems like some colors have more staying power than others and this is the case with Emerald, as over the seasons, it is still up to the best choice.

Green is definitely a must in fashion collections, including wedding trends and home collections.

So whats the reason for that? According to Pantone press release, the official reason for choosing Emerald, Pantone 17-5641, is it “enhances our sense of well-being further by inspiring insight, as well as promoting balance and harmony,”

We must add: it is chic and sopisticated and almost perfect for any scheme. So yes, we can can imagine why our clients choose this pallette for their wedding day.  Perhaps, small details, like green heels, or a green tie, or what about a green cake?  .. We have choosen some images for you. Truly unique!

The Emerald is definitely chic and relaxing. On top of that this colour is thought to possess powers of luck and hope.

We think that, with so much beauty and green around us 2013 must surely be full of luck.

Stunning and unusual weddings bands

When it comes to wedding bands, the choices have often been quite limited. Do you go for the plain yellow gold, white gold or the platinum? On a practicality front, plain wedding bands are great as they need little care and will still look as good in 20 years.

But a new wave of brides are craving something more spectacular to show off their married status. No more boring bands. These ladies want diamonds, unusual designs and even different colours (rose gold anyone?)

Luckily jewellery designers have caught onto this trend and are designing stunning wedding bands that not only are practical but consider personal taste a necessity, allowing you to choose a wedding band that reflects you. Here’s a pick of some of our favourites from De Beers and Tiffany & Co.

This unsual ring is great for brides who want to step away from the tradional wedding band. Not only is the shape of the ring unique but the diamonds add that extra touch of glamour. These gems are also available to stack if you’re not happy with just the one ring!

For the conservative brides, an antique diamond, maybe belonging to old family treasures?

Or instead, why not opting for a big dream such as a diamond crown… like a real princess?

Or maybe, just be different! Don’t buy a ring, just opt for a bracelet, an endless symbol to carry with you everyday…

Or simply… opt for a classic: This beautiful rose gold ring.

J’adore Dior! Ever since I saw these amazing rings in the store window on the Via dei Condotti in Rome, I’ve been obsessed! I love the combination of the luxurious gem stones and the quirky, kitsch details, like the enamel ladybirds and daisies.

This cute, almost antique design, bursting with colour, has inspired all kinds of one-of-a-kind wedding accessories…

Henna tattoos are a long sought after art, and an ancient tradition. It is so facinating how intricate, beautiful, and detailed these pieces of art really are. A beautiful work of henna does more than any dress ever could. It ads design in the areas that are otherwise ignored, and compliments any wedding dress.Traditionally Henna would accompany an Indian wedding gown. However, there are many different variations, and brides all over the world are adopting this loved tradition.

Nature as the perfect backdrop

So today,  we enjoyed our usual half an hour on the DLR going to work, as usual we spent this time catching up with what’s going on out there in the world, and what did we find today? These beautiful, timeless and entrancing images by Danielle Guelbart. Featured recently in one of our fav online blogs ‘Dazed and Confused’, Guelbart is making a name for herself. Her images are dreamlike, often involving nature, and a lot of the time include herself in them, creating a documentary of her life of her seeimingly theatrical and whimsical life. They made me think of beauty and nature and the delight of being able to combine them with your perfect day. Guelbart often shoots by the sea, using the water, the white sand and debre as her backdrop. We went on a search for more inspiring images that use the theme of nature and the sea, this is what we came up with…

Narelle Dore, a designer we happen to love, has just released her 2012 collection, entitiled ‘Glazy Days of Sun Rays’. Below are some images we thought would be inspiring to you. The first is a necklace, designed by Dore and structured around seaweed. The rest show this latest collection, think precious stones, shells, crochet, dip dye and nature.
