Recently I’ve been dreaming of an African Safari. There is nothing more exciting than a beautiful location, warm weather and a new adventure to get you in the mood for summer and perhaps even a safari themed wedding! The image above is so fun and timeless. It is so inspiring to see couples do something different using masks. The picture captures a wonderful moment in a beautiful setting at the same time making it almost surreal.

This safari inspired photoshoot got me thinking about the cool and quirky things you can do to personalise your wedding. Being a fan of vintage suitcases, I was immediately drawn to their uniqueness and love how the image below, which gives different ideas of using suitcases as part of your decoration. Using them as a backdrop to your photo spot is just one idea. I was also drawn to the minature wooden rhino in the photo above which is perfect for wedding favours or to liven up your table decor.

This table setting adds some much needed colour to a safari theme. The bright flowers with warm softly lit candles just looks dreamy. The birdcages add a little fun and quirkyness to the whole setting. You can also replace the birdcages with cute little laterns which will create a similar effect.

The bride looks stunning and her bridesmaids look so cute in their safari inspired dresses. I love how this photo looks vintage yet modern. The soft lighting gives the picture a dreamy effect.

Beautiful and simple. The natural elements around the couple and their outfits create a relaxed vibe. I especially love the vintage style photography which really gives the photos an almost 1920s style effect.

It’s easy to poke fun at over-the-top themed weddings [who could forget the ridiculous Gone With The Wind-style photo shoot in 27 Dresses!] – but an engagement shoot based on a movie that both the bride and groom adore can be a light-hearted and romantic take on the shared passions that brought the couple together.
That’s why I adore this unique wedding shoot. This cute and creative couple, inspired by their love of the classic Audrey Hepburn movie Roman Holiday, themed their photo shoot around some of the film’s iconic moments. All they needed was their hometown of Brighton, and a handy Vespa!

Compliments of Ever So Lovely
It’s an obsession that is sweeping the nation. It’s a trend, that is covering the world. It’s a brilliant idea that has entrigued the hearts of many, and of mine. It is the Photo Booth Phenomenon!
Weddings far and wide have guests lining up to take a quick photo shoot for the bride a groom. Bride and grooms alike are enjoying getting these images printed and viewing pictures of all their happy guests. Photo booths are a great accessory for those who are camera shy. As they can have privacy, and when left with props and hats, who knows what will be seen on those photos!

C’è una città di questo mondo,
ma così bella, ma così strana,
che pare un gioco di fata morgana
e una visione del cuore profondo.
Avviluppata in un roseo velo,
sta con le sue chiese, palazzi, giardini, .
tutta sospesa tra due turchini,
quello del mare, quello del cielo.
Così mutevole! A vederla
nella mattina di sole bianco
splende d’un riso pallido e stanco,
d’un chiuso lume, come la perla:
ma nei tramonti rossi affocati
è un’arca d’oro, ardente, raggiante,
nave immensa, veleggiante
a lontani lidi incantati.

Choosing the right photographer is always a very difficult task. There are so many options out there, which one is the best for you? Here are some very useful considerations from our friend and talented Denver photographer, Selah.

“Have you ever walked in to a home and noticed that 16 x 20 on the wall which highlights the most significant day of the couples’ lives? You know, the one featuring big bangs, white suits, mustaches and long white puffy sleeves? Everyone who sees it is slightly embarrassed for them. Years goes by and the epic photograph full of significance slowly creeps its way into the back corner of the guest bedroom.

Are you an artistic trend-seeker yet aware of the dating effects of spot color, fish eye lenses and over-saturation? As time goes by one of two things can happen: The Persian kiss-like images only increase in value and the quality and intent behind the imagery allows for the photograph to remind you of the goodness of time. On the other spectrum, the trendy spot-colored cookie-cutter creativity is one that quickly dates. The modern becomes old and the fresh becomes disingenuous. How do you define the difference?

Fine art wedding photography is a fairly elite and unique service within the wedding photography industry. It can be defined as the kind of art you would hang on your wall even if you aren’t the bride and the groom. It reflects reality, something we can connect to while holding hands with dynamic and high-quality imagery. “I never would have seen that,” you may think upon observing that photograph.

When investing in your wedding photographer–look for an artist. Someone whose perception and vision is committed to creating a meaningful heirloom, rather than a picture showing what you looked like on that day. Search for that photographer who has the ability to create artwork that increases in value over time rather than causing you to close the drawer on your visual memories.”
So…the trick is picking a photographer whose shots will become pieces of art!!! Start searching..

From Cupcakes to Champagne, this year’s Designer Wedding Show was to inspirational!
There are many booths that made an imprint on me from this show. The show offered a wide rage of wonderful live music, great Save-The-Date ideas, venues, accessories, innovative photographers, dresses, hats, dessert, caterers and tips to staying organised during the Wedding Planning process. It created so many new ideas.
After we had spent most of the day conversing with people and sharing our ideas of Wedding Planning, we spent a few minutes posing for the camera in a Photobooth (which was a great keepsake from the day). My highlight had to be of course, the Designer Fashion Show.
Matthew Williamson showed us some great gowns for this upcoming season.

The Designer Wedding Show gave a great information from a wide view of topics. It would be beneficial for any bride to attend, as it helps materialize any ideas that you are unsure of.
Thanks The Designer Wedding Show, we had a great time.

I, like a lot of women out there, had my wedding dress all thought up before the age of 10, it was however, a lot different to what I picture now. I actually owned one of those lifesize Barbies when I was young, the bride one, looking back it’s a tad creepy but at the time I loved her. She had on a corseted white bodice, which fitted so well over her non-existent figure ( you can imagine my horror when I suddenly grew hips, what on earth were they doing there!!) and a puffy white skirt that skimmed along the floor, layers of netting with silk draped over the top, and this dress was pretty much my dream dress too. A bodice with a skirt the size of a mountain trailing as long as a river behind me. A veil that my Dad would lift at the end of the aisle, etc, you get the jist. Barbie and Ken had it all right, I found these images the other day that amused me, shot by Beatrice De Guigne, ladies and gentlemen, Barbie and Kens Wedding!

These images made me start thinking about my ideal wedding dress today, after visiting the Designer Wedding Show in Battersea this weekend there is now a clear winner. Long gone are my thoughts of OTT puffy shoulders, and ballroom dancing sparkly shoes that I dreamt of as a child, here now lays in my thoughts a elegant, vintage, laced and silk dress. Charlotte Casadejus designs vintage inspired pieces, she began in 2003, with a love of Textiles she designed cushions with beautiful embroidery, she moved on to wedding dresses, taking inspiration from bits of lace, beading and vintage dresses she had collected along the way.

Photography has always been a passion of mine, and I would like to share this with you. Whist studying Photography at London College Of Fashion my love of this wonderful man grew and grew. Tim Walker, our dream photographer.
His work is everything that anything has to do with fantasy. Theatrics that somehow look like that’s exactly how they were meant to be found, that they live in a world where this really does exist and we just mearly get a glimpse into this. It’s like walking into Narnia meets Alice in Wonderland meets Princess and the Pea. What I find interesting about him is he loves to shoot on film, which I am a believer in, there is something fascinating about not knowing how your images are going to turn out until the end, digital photography, great for so many things, but takes the beauty ( I believe) out of an old art.
In relation to weddings, I think Tim Walker expresses everything that would make my dream day, fantasy, oddities, imagination, whimsical settings and gowns Cinderella would be jealous of. This post is purely for your pleasure, his work has been used as inspiration for a lot of Events/Weddings and I hope it can be food for thought for you too.

Again this year the Venetian tradition of masks, dresses, burlesques and clowns is reaching its highest point.. a few weeks when everyone can express their own way of understanding and celebrating this festivity.
We (last summer) anticipated this beautiful and historical, almost blasphemous day, I would say, by adding a touch of masked glamour to a beautiful shoot organised together with the girls of Simplybloomphotography.
We don’t want to unveil too much at this stage but these are just a very few images of what you can expect to see in the upcoming weeks.
Stay tuned!….in Venice!
