Tulip secret garden

 All images by Chicweddings

What can you discover while walking in a park in the Netherlands? … a secret Garden of Tulips of course… Oh ! And the scent of spring all around. I can’t explain why but tulips make me happy! So bright and colourful, they always place a smile on my face! I have found this secret garden and its space was divided into colours and type. Yellow and pink, red and purple, light pink and bright pink. I thought immediately that tulips are beautiful but how wonderful would be to divide them into colours and create a table colour palette divided into nouances ? Imagine a long table with tulips as centerpieces starting from nouances of strong red colour ending with light pink. A lively Dutch Tulip field as wedding table!

The delicate vision of shade

Image from  Belle the Magazine

Today I am captured by millions of shades as the sun is shining here in Italy. Finally thousands of shades of colours are reflecting in the sky, the summer sunsets are almost here.

Looking at this masterpiece of mother nature, I start surfing for shaded colour tables and look what I have found! I love this! Great idea for a small table, or even better starting from the middle, Bride and Groom seats, towards the end, left and right. Imagine… pictures should be, then, taken from the top but a similar effect wouldn’t that be beautiful?

Of course all this should be complimented with a wedding cake, and a dress, and a wedding aisle…

Here some inspirations!

Wandering in Florence

A short post for tonight, unfortunately, we have been too busy in helping our lovely brides… the wedding season is approaching!!!

The past week end  I have been accompanying my clients to Florence and while walking and strolling after a day with them, I bumped into this beautiful creation! I love these cactus shaped vases, and I love even more the contrast with the orchids…it made me think about the difference between men and women, their strong contrasting personalities which complement themselves adding harmony to their relationship. One is harsh, sometimes aggressive, or defensive, white and pure as a man often can be, the other one delicate, beautiful with soft skin, colourful as our gender can be.

Two opposite elements, in the world of plants… isn’t nature just perfect?

BUON CARNEVALE A TUTTI!

C’è una città di questo mondo,
ma così bella, ma così strana,
che pare un gioco di fata morgana
e una visione del cuore profondo.

Avviluppata in un roseo velo,
sta con le sue chiese, palazzi, giardini, .
tutta sospesa tra due turchini,
quello del mare, quello del cielo.

Così mutevole! A vederla
nella mattina di sole bianco
splende d’un riso pallido e stanco,
d’un chiuso lume, come la perla:

ma nei tramonti rossi affocati
è un’arca d’oro, ardente, raggiante,
nave immensa, veleggiante
a lontani lidi incantati.

Tickled for Pink?

Tickled for Pink?… You’re in Luck!

Blush Pink is on the colour forecast for Spring 2012. Blush pink tones down the passion of red and combines with the purity of white. It reminds us of the romance associated with the blushing of a young brides cheeks.

Winter flowers

Images by Chicweddings

Are you planning your wedding in winter but your favourite flowers are Peonies, Tulips, Daffodils or Daisies? what to do then? How do you compromise on such an important detail?

I must admit that in fact I am more intrigued by the selection of winter flowers than spring palettes. The nature in winter seems like showing you all the colours of the wool, cachemere, fire and wood. And today while walking at the local market a few beautiful shapes caught my eye.

A long winter table, warm candles,  grand austere branches of wood, cotton balls, and purple red, white, dark green colours. Maybe it is because my favourite colour is purple, or maybe because purple reminds me of something precious when mixed with the red ( the Holy Church uses this colours on very special days), I don’t know. I just think these colours when mixed together decorate a table in a rather unique, elegant way. So don’t compromise! Look around, and you will find beauty in every season, in every shape and in every colour.

A cosy fall wedding

Here is another post about autumn, but today I’ve been inspired by Jessica Sloane of Love Bird Style who designed this charming setting captured by Souder Photography. Everything is surrounded by the cosy autumnal colours in the simplicity of few natural elements: an inviting basket of crisp red apples, a corner with warm apple pies & leaves and pine cones spread out everywhere! I always thought that simplicity is the key to happiness … and here a beautiful example! Hopefully this will give you a little inspiration for your ideal wedding!

Fall leaves for your bridal bouquet

Image from Everything begins with an E’s blog

This morning I woke up early and from my window I could see the magical dance of leaves falling down. So many beautiful colours floating in the air! Who doesn’t love fall colors? Leaves are just as colorful as flowers… So, before they got too brittle, I went out to collect some and tied them up into a nice bouquet. There are few tutorials on ‘how to turn autumn leaves into a bouquet of roses’ you can easily follow, and I’m sure the result will be stunning! I found this project nice and easy to repeat for your wedding decorations, too! If you are a DIY bride and you are keen to customise your wedding in perfect harmony with the season, this is a great idea for you!

White pumpkins for a Chic Wedding

Image from Better Homes and Gardens website

In this period of the year it’s very easy to find everywhere orange pumpkins, which are obviously used to celebrate Halloween as well as to decorate tables, window displays, etc. But, don’t forget that pumpkins come in other colors besides orange: green, cream, gold and white! Here I’ve put together a few inspirational white pumpkins images; these latter are less used and probably unknown to the most… but really gorgeous! Perfect to give a subtle and elegant touch to your wedding!

You can embellish them with stencils, laces, pearls or with a nice decoupage like the one proposed by Funky Time. Or, you can arrange fantastic centerpieces adding candlesticks, twigs, flowers and plants. So, let’s dare a bit using white pumpkins instead of the traditional orange ones!
