Let’s celebrate!!!

We are proud to have appeared on 100LayerCake again this week with Olga & Sende’s wedding anniversary party!
Here are the fantastic photos of the event:

The party was very different from their wedding day, still very elegant but crazier. We organised a gyspy style banquet, with bongos for the aperitif and a make over corner. Everything was set up among the vineyards, with ancient rugs on the grass, mismatched chairs, centrepieces rich of fruit and flowers, old maroccan teapots and church candelabras. It was too beautiful to be real…and all of a sudden, before they even started to eat it rained! Strong rain that wiped out the whole setting…but the atmosphere was just too great to be ruined and we decided to continue partying inside. In 10 minutes we moved all the decor in the ancient mill room where they ended up having dinner. After hours of delicious homemade food, they then moved outside again for the dessert corner and to dance until morning.

Well done team!!!! And thank you Olga & Sende!
Finally, a special thanks to 100layercake!
We have reached the end of this 2012, once again another year has passed…so many things have happened over again, joys and sorrows, laughs and tears and then we are at the end… This year I feel like celebrating in a remote, unique way and me and my fiance’ have been invited to a Venice Grand Canal event in one of the most beautiful ” grandeur” palaces of the Serenissima.
The end of the year this year will see me with an astonishing dress accompanied by my man wearing a tuxedo! It is not a wedding ( like one of those I adore) but an important event and I want to impress. ( I am impressed myself that I will be wearing a wonderful gown)
If you also have been invited to an important party whether this is in Paris, in Venice or in Austria, dancing in one of the rooms of old Emperors and Princesses, Kings or Bishops, below you will find some inspirations of what my end of the year party will be like.
A dream, I know… and I can’t wait to live in it! :)
Happy New Year to all of you!

Well, Christmas time is definitely coming. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, you must love the atmosphere around it.
So what makes Christmas so special, what makes us feel in the “Christmas mood”?
For some of us, it’s the hustle and bustle of cities with a backdrop of Christmas lights, the smell of roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. For others, the crowded vintage markets, people walking home carrying a Christmas tree and the radio playing “Let It Snow”. Then it is time. Every year it ‘s the same and every year it is so special and different at the same time.

Nice decors at Desdemyventana
First, it is not Christmas without a Christmas tree or festive home décor. Choose the colours you prefer, remember it can simply match with a winter mood, choose some neutral notes like grey or taupe and add some Christmas colours like green or reds, even oranges, or some fruit for a special touch and never, never forget the lights! Lights, candles and fairy lights, anything on that kind, is good to create a magical atmosphere.
Personalize everything: a mirror, a door, a window, small details… what else?
Christmas can be very special for our brides to be and those who have recently tied the knot or have just moved into the new house!

If your count down has started, discover ways to make it really special. Here are some ideas to spend fashionable days and buy fashionable things for less!
-Buying local, from markets and charity shops is a good way to feel close with our community, sharing something with them and helping people.
-Go to a vintage market on a cold and crisp Winter’s Sunday. This can really help you to feel the Christmas spirit. If you are lucky and if you have an eye for good bargains, markets are the right place for you.
-High street shopping can also be a possibility. Keep an eye on prices but for your Christmas shopping and atmosphere, it is definitely worth a try.

Online shopping can be easier and cheaper if you haven’t got much time , it can be helpful, but of course you don’t get the same feeling.
Here some ideas for presents: books you can find online, prices from £15 up to £70. Very stylish!

Not all of us feel the same at Christmas, but for those people who love it , well there’s nothing better than spending time shopping, decorating or doing Christmas activities: cooking, visiting relatives or travelling. Whatever you are going to do, choose what makes you feel good, enjoy it and we wish it to be special for you.

I am just back from New York. Ten days in the big apple, 5 of which in total blackout. I am not complaining of course as many have suffered major losses whereas my only disadventure was having dinner at the light of a candle.
Even though my favourite part of the city was shut for many days, I fortunately still managed to enjoy a few strolls around lower Manhattan on my quest for industrial details.
Here are some images of what is super popular in NYC, items that I have found in trendy nightlife spots which I have always loved and I can’t wait to use in one of our weddings. Come on brides…let’s dare.

All our followers might have realised that the wedding season has started for Chic Weddings as we haven’t found the time to sit down in front of the screen and report on what’s happening around us.
Be patient and you will get all the previews on our events…what’s new, what’s cool, what’s romantic, what’s groovy…and I could go on forever.
Our team has already witnessed a lot of fabulous special days since the end of May and this week we will share with you our latest news from Umbria and Ponza. Stay tuned!
Here are a few images to awake your appetite for gorgeous details. All shots by us with our iPhone while styling the breathtaking venues chosen by our wonderful couples. :-)

Here I am…so tired after a day of scouting, sneaking, sourcing, shopping…a few images of new entries into our stock of decorative elements. Markets are full of ideas, I wish I could just wander from city to city visiting them.
Anyway, Portobello on a Friday afternoon, when there are no tourists obstructing your view and you can actually take your time to look around is THE BEST!
Here are today’s purchases:
Vintage white light dress …perfect to hang, decorate a tree, a photo shoot
I told my husband that we now HAVE TO organise another party!

Vintage Marine hat for our photobooth corner..

Another almost new vintage suitcase (One of my current grooms would hate it and I still think about his sad story…however I can’t help it…but add new pieces to my collection! :-))

Yes, I have finally found a mercury glass vase that I like…hurrah!

And my old friend at the market had this gorgeous mirror which works perfectly at our girlie corner..let’s dance babes!
