Christmas mood

Well, Christmas time is definitely coming. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, you must love the atmosphere around it.

So what makes Christmas so special, what makes us feel in the “Christmas mood”?

For some of us, it’s the hustle and bustle of cities with a backdrop of Christmas lights, the smell of roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. For others, the crowded vintage markets, people walking home carrying a Christmas tree and the radio playing “Let It Snow”. Then it is time. Every year it ‘s the same and every year it is so special and different at the same time.

First, it is not Christmas without a Christmas tree or festive home décor. Choose the colours you prefer, remember it can simply match with a winter mood, choose some neutral notes like grey or taupe and add some Christmas colours like green or reds, even oranges, or some fruit for a special touch and never, never forget the lights! Lights, candles and fairy lights, anything on that kind, is good to create a magical atmosphere.

Personalize everything: a mirror, a door, a window, small details… what else?

Christmas can be very special for our brides to be and those who have recently tied the knot or have just moved into the new house!

If your count down has started, discover ways to make it really special. Here are some ideas to spend fashionable days and buy fashionable things for less!

-Buying local, from markets and charity shops is a good way to feel close with our community, sharing something with them and helping people.

-Go to a vintage market on a cold and crisp Winter’s Sunday. This can really help you to feel the Christmas spirit. If you are lucky and if you have an eye for good bargains, markets are the right place for you.

-High street shopping can also be a possibility. Keep an eye on prices but for your Christmas shopping and atmosphere, it is definitely worth a try.

Tim Walker: Our dream Photograher

Photography has always been a passion of mine, and I would like to share this with you. Whist studying Photography at London College Of Fashion my love of this wonderful man grew and grew. Tim Walker, our dream photographer.

His work is everything that anything has to do with fantasy. Theatrics that somehow look like that’s exactly how they were meant to be found, that they live in a world where this really does exist and we just mearly get a glimpse into this. It’s like walking into Narnia meets Alice in Wonderland meets Princess and the Pea. What I find interesting about him is he loves to shoot on film, which I am a believer in, there is something fascinating about not knowing how your images are going to turn out until the end, digital photography, great for so many things, but takes the beauty ( I believe) out of an old art.

In relation to weddings, I think Tim Walker expresses everything that would make my dream day, fantasy, oddities, imagination, whimsical settings and gowns Cinderella would be jealous of. This post is purely for your pleasure, his work has been used as inspiration for a lot of Events/Weddings and I hope it can be food for thought for you too.

A few of my favorite things

Our favorite way to spend an afternoon would be to head to a coffee shop, purchase a sweet latte and take a walk around our beautiful cities we are so lucky to live in.

Whilst walking around London the other day we came across this little treasure, an Aladin’s cave of furniture and vintage heaven. ‘Maison Trois Garcons’ is of course famous for its fabulous and decadent restaurant ‘Les Trois Garcons‘, located in Shoreditch, East London. If you are looking for those one of a kind, beautiful highlights of furniture for your wedding or home then look no further!

Nature’s Decor for your Wedding Day: dress trees up

Wedding Inspirations are everywhere.

On a recent trip to Istanbul I was swept away by the ageless trees. While most people were off marvelling at the wonders of the great palace, I began to notice these thousand year old trees in the courtyard. I thought about how beautiful and intricate they were. Trees are often understated and overlooked, but if you take the time to ‘Smell the Roses’, choosing a venue with intricate trees adds a fine detail that only natures gifts can provide.
