Tickled for Pink?

Tickled for Pink?… You’re in Luck!

Blush Pink is on the colour forecast for Spring 2012. Blush pink tones down the passion of red and combines with the purity of white. It reminds us of the romance associated with the blushing of a young brides cheeks.

A unique twist on a wedding invite

Invites by Alice G. Patterson of Bella Figura‘s invites

After we spent hours raiding Vimeo the other day for unique wedding invite ideas we suddenly found ourselves intrigued and looking for more. As ever, we love anything eco-friendly, and this range By ‘Bella Figura’ with over 200 unique letterpress designs certainly fits the bill. You can view the collection here. Make sure to check it out, the designs really are incredible.

We love their recent collaboration with portrait and lifestyle photographer Alice G.Patterson. An exciting way to display their range with minatures and figurines, our favorite is the invite being shown as a outdoor cinema screen, completely adorable. A great way of taking something classic as the art of letterpress and turning it into something contemporary. This could be a great way to invite someone to your wedding, a print framed as a piece of art.

On another note, it’s 2 days until Christmas! Happy Holidays!

Its Never to Late for a Thankyou…

Its never to late for Thankyou…

Have you ever gone to a wedding, a bridal shower, an engagement party, bought the Bride and Groom a gift that you thought they would really enjoy, and weeks then months go by without a thankyou card? You begin to ponder did they even recieve the gift? Maybe they didn’t like it? In some cases a year later a thankyou card shows up in the mail. You should be happy that the Bride and Groom have been using your gift religiously, but instead your left with this awkward feeling.

Here is some tips on Thankyou Cards:

Timing:

A thankyou card is best to be sent between 1-3 weeks of recieving a gift. Some have said that Princess Diana wrote her thankyou cards every night before bed.

Writing the Card:

1. Address the giver personally

2. Acknowledge the gift and gratitude for it

3. Express how you will use the gift

4. Thank the giver again

5. Kind Regards

It is now quite popular for a bride and groom to send a picture out of their wedding as a thankyou card, so for personal cards like those, it is acceptable to send a thankyou card out 1-3 months after received.

We Love Locks

I’m sure most of you have seen similar images like this around, this fad has swept Europe. The first time I heard this romantic story, a couple proudly pronouncing their love by attaching a lock to a bridge and throwing the key in the water, I thought what a perfect way to symbolise eternal love.

So some of you may not be hopeless romantics like myself, but it is still a great inspiration for a Wedding Favour or an innovative way to do a GuestBook.

As a Wedding Favour you could engrave your names on the locks or leave blank for guests to find that special place with their partner, or their future Mr. Right.

Try using a lock and key as a GuestBook  at your Wedding. You can use a piece of gate from the garden of your new home and place it where the guest table is. Guests will then attach their very own lock and greeting. This will serve as a timeless reminder everytime you pass your garden of your many friendships, and that day you tossed your key in the water.

Our kind of invite

Wedding Invitation by Bob Gallagher

We have over our time in this business seen many, many weddings invites, however the ones we love most are the personal ones, the silly ones and the invites where you see the couple for who they really are. Take a Canon 450d, two of your secretly stashed away rubber ducks and a willing fiance and what are you left with? A beyond cute animated invite, lovingly entitled the ‘Invitation of two great friends’. What we love about this invite is that little glimmer into their relationship, their “friendship” and their creative, humourous personalities! From the alphabet spaghetti to the vintage typewriter, all the small details make this invite completely adorable. Enjoy!

Winter flowers

Images by Chicweddings

Are you planning your wedding in winter but your favourite flowers are Peonies, Tulips, Daffodils or Daisies? what to do then? How do you compromise on such an important detail?

I must admit that in fact I am more intrigued by the selection of winter flowers than spring palettes. The nature in winter seems like showing you all the colours of the wool, cachemere, fire and wood. And today while walking at the local market a few beautiful shapes caught my eye.

A long winter table, warm candles,  grand austere branches of wood, cotton balls, and purple red, white, dark green colours. Maybe it is because my favourite colour is purple, or maybe because purple reminds me of something precious when mixed with the red ( the Holy Church uses this colours on very special days), I don’t know. I just think these colours when mixed together decorate a table in a rather unique, elegant way. So don’t compromise! Look around, and you will find beauty in every season, in every shape and in every colour.

Beach mood…wedding attire

Sorry gals and pals but I cannot think about anything else than the three “S” at the moment (Sand, Sea and Sun!).

I bought these sandals today and I think they would work out extremely well for a casual beachside wedding.

So I started surfing the net to find a matching accesory and I fell in love with this lace bridal summer hat by Jane Taylor Millinery.

Extravagant and ethereal: superb!

Funny labels

Yesterday I received a Xmas card, one of the first of this month. Something super cute was sealing the envelop and I thought of sharing it with you all. This company, called ” The Family Labels”, makes these funny labels.  Not just that… They can create note pads, new address cards, greeting cards, ironing labels ( those cute labels you can iron on your kid’s t shirt to make it more personal). You can also use these labels as a little sweet touch to your wedding invitations, if the style of the invite is informal and relaxed, the label will make your guests smile.

In fact, it is a pity I discovered this so late, otherwise I could have done some really cool presents to all my family!

At the market: inspirational details

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

While Clara is in Bali capturing inspiring decorations ( between a surfing lesson and a very good coffee!) I am wandering around the city. Last weekend I was tremendously inspired  by some really good news.

The first news is that an interior stylist will feature my house! She will style inside my place! She visited me last week, and she found my house filled with inspirations, she said! Those images will then be published in a famous magazine! The appointment is for the 12th of January! I can’t wait…stay tuned!

The second news is that I have finally received my new PINK chair. A Parisian chaise which I bought from an antique shop. I had been staring at it for months and months, I had been visiting the shop so many times looking at it and dreaming of it! I was captured by its colour and the ” capitonee” style…then I made up my mind… I WANT IT-I AM BUYING IT! It has such a STRONG character!  She, Madame Chair, is now possessing my living room, adapting in it and cuddling in it, like a baby inside their mum’s belly!

The third good news is that I have found some cool objects to buy for our wedding decoration stock!

Here are some shots of the market’s founds …. and an image of the arrogant piece of furniture :)
