Here I am…with two new details to add to your crown-themed wedding. A beautiful wallpaper to decorate your photobooth or dessert corner and crown iconic candles for the wedding long banqueting-style tables. They would look amazing with a mix of dark red and dark pink peonies..for a colourful touch…or with a mix of white flowers if you prefer to stick to the two colour scheme. These are not the type of objects that any random princess would like…but an extravagant Princess with the BIG “P” who is not afraid to dare would die for them!

… and today I would like to share the images of the interiors, the bedroom, the objects you can find in this Locanda. A feeling of being at home, or even better, an urge of owning a place like this too.

Some weeks ago I wrote a post entitled ” romantic week end by the windmill”. You can find the post here .
Well so much to say that I don’t know where to start… The week end was amazing, the location is a jewel of decorative items all over the place, from the bedrooms, to the bathrooms, the dining area, the fireplace. All over there are objects from antique markets, precious stuff belonging to the family owining this magic place. Collectibles all around, and then the food, the plants, and the candles… oh, the light of the candles.
It is difficult to describe in a few words what makes one location more magical than another. The geographical position of this ideal wedding location, is not in a fortunate area overlooking the Tuscan Hills but it is situated on a small country side street where, in the past, farmers used to buy the flour produced at the mill. Therefore the mill had to be in a reachable and easy position.
This is a magical place to be enjoyed in the evening. There are almost no bulb lights around, but hundreds and hundreds of candle lights…I hope sooner or later, one brave bride will opt for an alternative location, rather than the safe Tuscan area, allowing this place to shine even more….here are some of my impressions. I will start with what I have found in the public restroom and in the next few days I will share the magic of the colours of this Italian Locanda.

I hope you all guys and gals had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I didn’t cook a turkey as my husband was not feeling well and my baby is not a keen meat eater…so we celebrated with a much lighter meal: baked cod and rosemary roast potatoes. The highlight was the double fondant chocolate cake from Ottolenghi, even though I am the only one who had it!!! I used the smallest and cutest organic (not that matters in this case!) red apples mixed with chestnuts to decorate the table. The result was pretty cool…but then this morning I found this two tables, which are simple but impressive. I like the idea of adding a modern touch to this traditional celebration. What do you say?

I am planning to refurbish my working space, I want a different look with the double C: cool and convenient. I have surfed the net, looking for ideas in order to understand what I need.
I must say though that there are plenty of cool interior images that unfortunately don’t consider the daily life of a self employer working from home. A company which runs from the four walls of a house, or in a shared space, needs something different than what I have found online.
Trendy furniture, however….uncomfortable chairs, they are designed for the look but not for the practicality. They are also always too low or too high, if you consider the amount of hours you normally sit at your desk. Home workers most of the time do double shifts, no coffee breaks, no chats with colleagues as when you work for youself time becomes suddenly extremely precious.
Natural light sometimes is missing in these images, the space around the desk is too small…I could go on and on but I just would like to share shots of a few spaces that I kind of like ( I would still change the chair though :)) ! The first is a bright working room where shelves above the desks offer lots of storage…for archives, folders, brochures, scrapbooks, portfolios, invoices etc.
The second is an space missing a big desk but with a cool side closet where you could store all your materials. Also I love the light coming from the window, which doesn’t obscure your laptop since it enters from its back.
Unfortunately, another cool design chair but too uncomfortable to sit on for long hours.
In any event, with a bit of fantasy and understanding of your needs, planning a space is feasible. Chicweddings is considering a large room where we could also organise table design workshops and styled shoots . We saw a studio we really like and …who knows? …more to come!

To honour our logo, which (by the way) I love to death, I am going to start posting accessories, objects, t-shirts, anything sporting a crown. Why? Because I feel like buying all this stuff but my house is already cluttered. Maybe one of you will find an interesting piece for their wedding collection! Crowns are really trendy lately…I guess that even if we are not kids anymore..we still fancy the idea of being Princesses and Princes for a day.

In which locations has your agency organised weddings? Do you have a list of locations that you recommend? How can I be sure that you have organised weddings all over Italy? …These are only a few sample questions that clients may have asked us in the past years. Well, from today onwards, you will be able to check some of the most amazing locations in Italy, from North to South, where Chicweddings has been. We haven’t been in tourist’s trap sites and we haven’t proposed ideas which we could not have loved for our own wedding. On the contrary, everything that we will feature here in the upcoming weeks will show why our heart started beating faster when we laid our eyes on something special and where our mind couldn’t stop day dreaming…
We hope you enjoy these locations as well. Unfortunately – or fortunately for us! :-) – some of these weddings have been published in lifestyle magazines and we cannot use the official photographer’s pictures. However , we did our best to capture the most special moments with our own cameras while running around to make sure that every detail was perfect and we will be sharing these shots with our readers! We apologise if some of the images won’t be great but bear with us…it was not easy to think about the light and the angle while setting up the tables, hanging the curtains, decorating the ceremony chairs…etc etc etc

The other day I was holding a call with one of my clients. While talking with them about planning, answering queries and posing questions, a sense of fulfillment overwhelmed me.
Later in the day I couldn’t stop thinking about the first day I met those clients and how many things have changed since then.
We met at first, in a bar, in a rainy grey London day. It was cold, and it was winter, last winter to be exact.
We met, we talked and I could see in their eyes and in the tone of their voice, a form of surveillance, at first impression. The unknown wedding designer who was there telling them everything about weddings.
They were studying me; they wanted to know, as normally it stands, everything about Chicweddings, figures, details, plans, budgets, colours, ideas…you name it, they asked it.
She wasn’t really relaxed, he was more open….many months have passed since the day they first asked for a meeting, and now I can see how confident they feel with our service.
Well, what I love the most about this job is the trust you can gain from your clients. How the relationship changes with time, the level of trust one client puts in your hands and the level of service you want to provide them. With these clients, I just want to make them happy!
And during our last call, she was laughing and smiling, we were openly discussing what was the best idea for this or that topic. I love the relationship you build during the preparation of a wedding and how pleasant the unknown service of a wedding planner can become. We end up being a familiar face, and we feel so comfortable sometimes with our clients that weekend’s-just-woken-up-faces don’t matter.
I love to see the light in her eyes just because she trusts the expertise you are commited to offer. The influence your knowledge may have on their day, the fact that you can address their concerns better than their instinct.
These clients, these relationships are the ones who really tell me that I am doing the right thing.
