Feathers for a soft, light wedding

Image via Style my Pretty

Mix feathers with flowers to add a soft touch to your wedding day. Feathers bring lightness, elegance and romance. You may choose among a wide variety of lenghts, styles and colours to match your palette. They are perfect for a winter wedding but colourful ones can be easily used during the summer as well. If you want to dare a bit more you could think about taxidermy  birds [have you seen Midnight in Paris from Woody Allen? Perfect decor, wonderful epoque]…but I will talk about this in my next post!

A stunning wedding dress

White, ivory, satin, silk and lace… normally these are the colours and materials used for wedding dresses. But who said that a wedding dress cannot be pink and made of wool? Here is the best example! I’m totally in love with this romantic wedding dress by Jemma Sykes. It’s called ‘The Elizabeth’, and it was designed and hand-knitted by Jemma Sykes for Butcher Couture. The dress is made from 100% certified organic wool and dyed naturally in soft pink. How much work behind a dress that looks like an artwork!

Jane Eyre style wedding

Images: top left corner, all others from Etsy

When Emily Bronte wrote this beautiful novel, certainly she didn’t expect her Jane to become an inspirational style icon to all brides to be.

The novel might have some dark atmospheres, poor, soft light interiors, stormy grey days and an impeccable old British nature  but the style of the lady is unique. I have created some moodboards which I hope will inspire all my British brides who are looking for something different, yet traditional.

The perfect autumn wedding with mushrooms

Image from Wedzu

Wood slabs, butterflies, rocks, hedgehogs are perfect for the autumn season… but what about mushrooms? If you are organising an outdoor wedding for this autumn, here are some ideas for you! The woodland theme is very popular at the moment so it was fun to have so many inspiring parties as reference points. I like the idea of adding mushrooms to your decoration, whether you opted for a quirky wedding or an event with a rustic feel. You can in fact choose  between fairy tale-like red & white mushrooms  or the more realistic brown ones, and they will all be so cute if used in boutonnieres, bouquets and centrepieces! And for the cake and candy bar corner… lots of other interesting ideas are waiting for you!

A ballet wedding: do you love to dance?

When I was little, I used to take ballet classes and I dreamt of become a famous etoille. Now I am a wedding planner but I can keep dreaming…and I can play with my past and mix it with my present. To remind me of what I could have become if I had kept up with those hard lessons and tough exercises, I have surfed the net for images that represent a ballet wedding. I have found a wonderful shoot by Jessica Claire, a fantastic photographer from LA, that reflects exactly what I had in mind. I am therefore featuring here a few of those images and I would like to compliment myself with La Fleur Weddings for the styling. I am also enclosing a couple of additional ideas…enjoy!

An autumn in love

Here is the most perfect autumn photo shoot I’ve ever seen arranged by the very talented Thaoski! Thaoski doesn’t personally take the photos herself, but she conceives the concept of the shoot, edits the resulting photos and posts up a series of shots that tell a story. The result is absolutely stunning!

“At the end of the day my intention is to leave you feeling more in love and more inspired than ever before. I want you feeling speechless and breathless … in awe of the beauty that was captured. I may create the set, the scene and the story. And the photographer may capture the moment … but ultimately it’s about you, your story and what makes you unique as a couple.” Thaoski.

I’m completely in love with all her engagements photo shoots… Romantic, comic, colourful, vintage… each photo shoot becomes a story, your story that will be forever preserved in those amazing images!

Addictive fashion illustrations

Images from Lula‘s website

I am just fascinated by the innovative idea of these three artists. A fashion illustrated magazine where subjects, clothes, shoes, personalities, famous celebrities, ( name Kate Moss or Angelina Jolie) have been perfectly sketched. The details, the attention to small items is what strikes me! I love these drawings and I imagine myself being drawn on my wedding day, with my wedding gown, and my wedding partner, in a fantastic sketch ” a la Lady Gaga”, or wearing a famous designer wedding gown.

Lula, the main character, co owner,  of the wonderful website, is sexy, hot, fashionista, crazy, she changes the colour and the style of her hair almost every day, she wears high heels and wonderful skirts, she has a fantastic wardrobe. She likes fashion and she likes to sketch, illustrate and digitalize women’s personalities.

On the first issue of Herselfmagazine you can find all your beloved ones : Cinderella ( in a leopard tight dress) , Pochaontas, Jasmine..to name just a few…all wearing fabulous dresses and fantastic hair dos.

I have already ordered a copy of my Herlselfmagazine and I cannot wait to receive it. I wish Lula and her team a lot of success in this wonderful project, ironic, full of fantasy. It’s truly the women’s world of fashion.
