It’s Summer.. So, let’s get a Gelato! Instead of a candy bar, a great idea for a wedding reception is to add a gelato or ice cream bar… During dessert time, you can push out a fabulous gelato cart and serve the guests gelato . Or even more… Add in the wedding reception a vintage gelato bicycle. This would be a fresh and colourful idea for a summer wedding, and you can customize the ice cream to suit your theme and colours. Chocolate, raspberries, strawberries, peaches, blueberries, pineapple, peaches and so on.. so delicious! And for a further chic touch you can serve it to your guests with a customized spoon to remember your wedding. The utensil would become a great favour as well.

Looking at these pictures by A picture life photography, I can’t stop thinking of a romantic wedding taking place in the late afternoon. When the sun sets and the candles light up.. when the air is fresher and smells like roses, what a wonderful dream wedding for brides who love to be romantic and slightly vintage.. This would be the perfect setting for their day! A soft, bucolic and garden-inspired wedding with a colour palette that includes shades of blush pink. LOVE IT!! Antique lace, roses and pearls will give a vintage touch to the table setting. You could also use tulips or lisianthus, mixing them with candles, white votives or small transparent vases nestled on a bed of rose petals … simply beautiful!

I love markets, and all the curious items you can find when visiting them. I love the people selling stuff, I admire them for their willingness to work sometimes outside, in cold and odd weather conditions.
I love people’s fantasy! You can always find something to buy, some inspirations to get…when scouting for wedding ideas or decorations, I believe markets are the best places to search for the perfect details.
Vinyls, paper goods, stationary, antique books and vintage decors fill these Sunday open air shops and only the eye of a good photographer can see through the colours and the people.

In Spain, the bride traditionally carries a fan in place of a bouquet. Why don’t follow this tradition and add a fan to your wedding? Fans are perfect for hot summer weddings! They can be used as an alternative to bridesmaids’ bouquets or as a favour to all your guests… either you can carry just one for you as a perfect detail for your outfit! According to your wedding colour scheme you can choose between fabulous colours and lettering… I love the wording: “Welcome to the marriage of Katie and Tim.” …or what about something more sophisticated with a vintage inspired design? Either way they will definitely add a distinctive touch!

For a true wedding extravaganza, here is a Circus Themed Wedding! This post is made especially for those couples who aren’t afraid to let their hair down and have a little fun on their big day. And even though most of you won’t be having a wedding based on a circus, I still think that you are going to like it for the absolutely darling details! I love the idea of bringing fun and strong colours to your wedding day. The red and white details as the playful cake shaped ring or the cute striped hat are such a great idea! Not to mention the fabulous Russian dolls used as place cards! These little gems are definitely going to make you smile and leave your guests surprised. I’m sure that with this magical atmosphere it won’t be difficult for your guests to enjoy your wedding party!

Bird cages are not only for birds anymore. Let those volatiles free and use their old home as a shabby chic idea for your wedding centerpieces. Birdcages are simple elements which can be utilised in so many ways.
They can be seen as hanging lamps, flower containers, desert displayers, candle keepers. Here are some ideas on how to use them, and some of my favourite shapes. One factor is important when opting for birdcages: they need to be vintage, in order to create a more authentic shabby-chic look.

Fruits + flowers = Summer!! A fresh and colourful idea for a summer wedding: bring seasonal fruits to your reception! You can easily beautify your dining table by placing a bowl of fruits, properly decorated with flowers of contrasting color. Strawberries, blueberries, cherries, apples, grapes or… pomegranates! Many people consider flowers and pomegranate fruits as a symbol of wealth, abundance and fertility.. Ancient Greeks believed that the first pomegranate tree was cultivated on the Island of Cyprus by the Goddess of love – Aphrodite. Since then pomegranate juice has got reputation of “a love potion”. And in these pictures the pomegranate is used as an unexpected and charming decor, mixed in harmony with tulips and roses. These unsual compositions not only create an original banqueting table but also enhance the overall look of your wedding!!

Usually colours are chosen to accentuate your mood. For your wedding what’s better than yellow to accentuate your joyful feeling? Here is a bright sunny mood board for those brides that are going to get married in this lovely and warm season. A yellow, blue and white Wedding scheme is a perfect mix either you are getting married by the beach or in the countryside! Yellow seems to soak up the light so it can radiate sunshine even on dull days, while blue and white bring elegance into the wedding design. How sophisticated this table setting with a silk blue tablecloth, white chinaware and small and bright yellow flowers is!
