Abany creates beautiful calligraphy & stationary and puts up inventive styles for tables and decorations. She uses colours, fabrics and other materials to express herself  producing a result which you cannot but love and admire. She helps her clients visualise the right theme and later delivers wonderful wedding invitations or designs a cool font for your dinner menu.

Here are some images of her work and I hope you enjoy her products. We truly do.

Old time wedding photography – part 2

After reading Eva’s latest post, I could not stop myself from adding this vintage image to the lot. This picture represents a truly old time wedding, held in Spain many decades ago. These are the parents of a close friend of mine and after admiring this image at his house, I finally had the opportunity to meet the lovely couple on their son’s wedding day. I wish more of nowadays weddings were like the one represented in this photo: true, honest and long lasting!

Have a romantic bank holiday weekend….

Old time wedding photographer

Images by Paolo Araldi

A family portrait like old time photos,  the same pose, the same composition, the colours, the style, and the cameras used by Paolo Araldo simply didn’t evolve, they didn’t follow the fast digital world of photography and that’s what I love about Paolo’s style.

These pictures communicate something unique, something which not every bride might be interested in seeing.. however, I am sure many brides would like his way of creating a revival atmosphere of the 70s, the 60s, the 50s.

I like how the attention falls on a different angle, on a different detail of the bride and the groom and how these images remind me of my grandmother;…a bit of  a nostalgic mood! ♥ Read more and view more photos

The great Gatsby wedding inspiration

Images from Polyvore‘s website

Imagine a Villa,  an atmosphere which reminds of the elegant atmosphere of the Great Gatsby, the bride and the groom arriving with an elegant Roll’s Royce, a vintage wedding dress from the 20s, a cloche hat and a sophisticated old time American ambience, plates in Art deco’ style and  vintage drinks for the party.

What more perfect than one of those beautiful Villas on the Italian Riviera to re create the atmosphere?

Here some inspirations! I feel that this vibe will be back in fashion soon, if not already here.

The day after the wedding

Images by Eva of Chicweddingsinitaly

We have done it! Another wedding has taken place and me and my colleague Clara have been wandering around the city of Florence on the day after. The air smelled like summer, rich of the scent of flowers and trees, you could feel the vibe of the warm season. Group of jolly friends chatting on terraces, filling cute bars, watching fashion shows happening on famous squares, looking at the windows of designer shops at night.

Images of this wonderful historical city caught my attention while I was walking and I do think that Florence is the perfect place to get married… it has such a beautiful atmosphere, the people are stylish and the details around the city are magnificent.  Even if  we have organised and attended many weddings here, this city  leaves us every time with something magical to bring home.

I didn’t have much time to capture everything I have seen and wanted, but these are just some unusual details of gorgeous Florence.

Men’s fashion: bow ties at wedding celebrations

Images from Brooksbrothers‘ website

With  today’s choices on men’s wedding suits, ties and shirts, one never thinks about proposing to all the male guests to wear bow ties…funky bow ties. Colourful, maybe made of different patterns and fabrics. A fresh look for the boys.

An unconventional wedding celebration would look original if you imagine all the boys wearing something so different. Summer and spring wedding would be the perfect seasons to dare something  like this. Winter season would instead be perfect for velvet bow ties, dark green, or dark blue, tartan fabrics or wool…A fashion icon maybe but still a classic statement which will always look elegant.

Vintage wedding mood

Images by Etsy

You want to give a vintage mood  to your wedding! You don’t know where to start, what to buy, how to create the style or how to assemble the ideas? No ideas on how to begin, how to visualise…

Think about old toys to entertain your guests, old luggages to be filled up with old memories, old music paper, vintage post cards, antique tea pots and cups. Buy an antique table cloth, laces and trims, old radios and cameras. Try to create a small corner, maybe under a tree or near a beautiful door where all the items will be displayed; the older the items, the better the result. If you have found something extreme unusual in the souterrain of your grandmother don’t think twice. Save the old, to be displayed  into the new.
